Despair.

Despair sits alone in her room and cries herself to sleep. She can’t stop thinking the hundreds of thoughts she just came across. Hidden thoughts of revenge, hatred, and murder flood through her head. The thoughts of others are made public and sprawled across internet pages every hour of everyday. Despair is their last hope, yet she is the essence of having none. She tries with everything she is to reach out and maybe just touch their hearts, yet she can do nothing to help them.

She is Rock Bottom. Try as she might, she will never get past that first stone up from the bottom. Despair is the result of an unfavorable union of helplessness and depression. She haunts you when you’re sleeping and even when you’re awake. You cannot escape her. She’ll creep up right behind you, and knock you out without you even knowing it. Although you may see her coming, every time she strikes it’s like a surprise - you don’t expect it.

She is unwelcome at every party. She’s the senior who goes to Prom with a freshman because she could find no one else to go with.

She cries alone at night. She never makes contact with anyone else. She will forever be boxed in. The only way she’ll be able to see the light of day, is to become one dimensional onto a piece of paper or on a web page. The day she comes in contact with another, she ceases to exist. The day she is shared with another, she will no longer be called Despair. Then comes the day when she marries another. On this glorious day, she must now change her name from Despair Thought, to Hope Action.

i wrote this my senior year of high school. i stumbled across it while cleaning out the garage..wow i was depressed back then. the assignment was to write about a trait and apparently everyone in my philosophy group chose all the other cool traits so i got stuck with this one. not too bad for high school.
i wonder if i can still write like this.
interesting.
